Infant and Child Care Maids in Singapore

A helper who is experienced with babies gives new parents real peace of mind. Suria Employment Agency matches Singapore families with Indonesian helpers who have cared for infants and young children.

What an infant care helper can do

• Feed, bathe and change babies, and help settle them to sleep
• Sterilise bottles and keep the nursery clean
• Look after toddlers and young children during the day
• Support with housework and cooking around the baby's routine

Choosing the right helper for your baby

We look at each helper's experience with newborns and young children, and you can interview shortlisted helpers before deciding. Our consultants also explain the work permit and settling-in steps.

Packages start from $1,843.10, with free replacements included.

When to start looking

If you are expecting, start the search about two to three months before your due date. That leaves time for interviews, the work permit and the helper's arrival, and lets her settle into your home before the baby comes. A transfer helper with baby experience can usually start sooner.

What to ask a helper about baby care

• How old were the babies and children she looked after, and for how long?
• Is she comfortable with night feeds, bathing a newborn and preparing formula?
• How does she keep a baby safe at home: cots, bath time, small objects?
• Is she happy to follow your routine and your paediatrician's advice?

Levy concession for families with young children

Households with a Singapore citizen child under 16 living with them usually qualify for the $60 concessionary levy instead of $300 a month.
