Questions to answer before you hire

• Can your parent walk on their own, or will the helper need to help with transfers from bed or wheelchair?
• Do they have a special diet, for example soft food, low salt or diabetic meals?
• Will the helper be alone with your parent during working hours?
• Which medical appointments or day-care visits will she accompany them to?

Levy concession for families with elderly members

If a parent or grandparent aged 67 or above lives with you, you may pay the concessionary levy of $60 a month instead of $300. Our team will check your eligibility when we submit the work permit application.
